Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Summary
- What WISR does. WISR analyzes the photos from your trail cameras and reports what they show. To do this, we process your account details, your property and camera details, and the photos your cameras send.
- What we do not do. We do not sell personal information, show advertising, or send marketing email.
- Model training. We use customer photos, and the labels and corrections made to them, to train and improve our models. This is on by default. A property owner may opt out at any time (Section 4).
- People in photos. WISR detects that a person or vehicle is present. It does not identify individuals and does not use facial recognition (Section 5).
- Usage data and cookies. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate, secure and improve WISR. Analytics and performance data is collected only after you accept our Terms of Service. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies (Sections 2.7 and 8).
- Your choices. You may ask to access, correct or delete your information by emailing support@wisrdev.com (Sections 11 and 12).
This summary is for convenience. The sections below set out the full policy.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
WISR is provided by Wildlife ISR, LLC ("WISR," "we," "us" or "our"), a Texas limited liability company located in Eustace, Texas.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through:
- the WISR application at https://app.wisrdev.com;
- this website (together with the application, the "Service").
The Service is offered as an invitation-only early-access program to a limited number of working ranches. It is still under active development. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in our Terms of Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Website visitors
The website and the WISR web app save a few settings on your device, such as display preferences, so they work the way you left them. The website currently loads no third-party content and shows no advertising. Requests to the website are logged as described in Section 2.8. Section 8 describes cookies and similar technologies.
The website has no forms. If you email us, we receive your message and email address and use them to respond to you.
2.2 Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address and date of birth. We collect your date of birth only to confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If you add a telephone number, we collect it as well.
2.3 Property and camera information
We collect:
- the names and locations of your properties;
- the cameras on each property and where they are placed;
- the people you invite to a property.
If you choose to use your device's location to place a camera, we use that location only for that purpose.
2.4 Camera photos and related data
We collect the photos your cameras send, along with the emails that deliver them, including each email's sender and subject line. Photos may show people and vehicles as well as wildlife. We record what WISR detects in each photo.
Cameras also embed technical information in each photo, which we collect. This can include:
- GPS position, altitude and direction;
- the camera's make, model and firmware version.
2.5 Activity records
We keep records of your activity in the Service, including:
- the date and time of your most recent sign-in and activity;
- alerts you acknowledge;
- the jobs and work orders you create.
2.6 AI assistant
When you use the in-app assistant, we collect what you type or say and the assistant's responses. Spoken requests are converted to text, and we keep the text rather than your voice recording. Spoken responses are kept as audio only briefly. With each message we also record your device identifier, language, time zone and app version.
If you ask the assistant to record work, it creates the corresponding job, to-do or work entry on your property. We use assistant conversations to provide the assistant and to evaluate and improve it. Authorized WISR personnel may review conversations for that purpose. The AI service providers that power the assistant (Section 7) process conversations on our behalf. They are not permitted to use them to train their own models.
2.7 Usage and diagnostic data
When it is collected. The application records usage and diagnostic data only after you have accepted the current Terms of Service. None is collected on the sign-in, sign-up or invitation screens, or while a request to accept updated Terms is on screen. Anything recorded before acceptance is discarded, not sent.
What it includes. Once you have accepted the Terms, the application records:
- Screens. The screens you view, how you reached them and how long they stay open.
- Interactions. Taps and other interactions with features. We do not capture the text you type or the text of the items you tap. For searches, we record the type of search but not the words you search for.
- Performance. Page-load and photo-load timings, and the timing and outcome of the application's requests to our servers. Request addresses are recorded with identifiers removed.
- Errors. Errors and crashes.
- Photo viewing. Which photos are shown to you, where in the application they appear, and how long they stay on screen.
- Voice input diagnostics. When you use voice, the type of browser, operating system and microphone, and the length of the transcribed text. These diagnostics do not include what you said; Section 2.6 covers assistant conversations.
- Device and application information. Device and browser type, operating system, application version, and your display theme.
- Identifiers. A random device identifier generated and stored by the application, a session identifier, your WISR user ID, and the property you are viewing.
Some of this data is held briefly on your device before it is sent.
Why we collect it. We use usage and diagnostic data to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Service, for example to find errors and measure how quickly photos load.
Who processes it. Usage and diagnostic data is sent to our own servers and stored by our search, logging and observability provider (Section 7). We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
2.8 Server and security logs
Each time your device or browser contacts the Service, including before you sign in, our servers and network providers log the request. These logs include your IP address, your browser or device type (the "user agent"), details of the request, such as the page or feature requested and its result, and the time. Requests made after you sign in are also logged with your WISR user ID, and we record sign-in attempts. We use these logs to operate and secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and diagnose problems. These logs are necessary to provide the Service and are not subject to the Terms-acceptance condition in Section 2.7.
For email we send, our email provider reports delivery, bounces and spam complaints. We record those events without storing your email address in them.
If you enable notifications, we keep the push token your device or browser provides so that we can deliver them.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide the Service: classify photos, generate alerts, maintain your property records and send the email you have requested.
- Secure the Service: protect accounts and provide support.
- Improve the Service: understand how it is used and improve it, including by training and testing our species-detection models (Section 4).
- Meet legal requirements: comply with legal obligations, and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Use of photos and labels to train our models
WISR's models improve by learning from real ranch photographs. We use customer photos, and the labels and corrections that users and our personnel add to them, to train and test our models.
This use is enabled by default for every property. An owner may opt out for a property by emailing support@wisrdev.com; an in-app setting is planned. After an opt-out, that property's photos and labels are not used in any new training or testing. Models trained before the opt-out are not changed.
5. People who appear in camera photos
Trail cameras record anyone who passes in front of them, including people who do not use WISR.
- Ownership. A photo belongs to the ranch that operates the camera.
- Our use. WISR uses photos, including photos that show people, to provide the Service and to train its models to distinguish people from animals.
- No identification. WISR detects that a person or vehicle is present. It does not determine who a person is and does not use facial recognition.
If you appear in a photo and have a question or concern, contact support@wisrdev.com. We will work with the ranch that owns the camera to address it.
6. How we share information
Members of your property. A property's owner decides who may access it and assigns each person a role, such as owner, manager or viewer. Each user sees only the properties they belong to. Owners and managers can see their members' contact details and most recent sign-in.
WISR personnel. Authorized WISR personnel can view and modify data on any property. We need that access to operate, support and improve the Service. We do not notify users each time it is used. Our personnel also review WISR's results on photos and correct errors, so results may change after review.
Contractors. Some photo labeling and support may be performed by contractors, some of whom may be located outside the United States. Labelers see photos but not the property name, owner or location.
Service providers. We use the providers described in Section 7. They process information only to provide their services to us.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, such as under a court order.
Business transfers. If Wildlife ISR, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. It will remain subject to this policy.
7. Service providers
We use a limited number of service providers. Each receives only the information it needs to perform its function.
| Category | Function |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting | Runs the Service, including servers, storage, sign-in and outbound email. |
| Network security and domain services | Operates our domain name and protects the Service against attacks. Like any network provider, it processes your IP address and the requests your device sends. |
| Search, logging and observability | Powers in-app search, and stores our server logs and the usage and diagnostic data described in Section 2.7. |
| Database | Stores your property records. |
| AI services | Power the assistant by processing what you type or say and helping generate responses. |
| Weather data | Receives a photo's location and time so that we can show the weather conditions when it was taken. |
| Push notifications | Delivers alerts to your phone through Apple or Google. Browser notifications are delivered through your browser's provider. |
| U.S. government lookup services | Receive a property's location so that we can determine its county and state. |
Detection of animals, people and vehicles runs on our own systems. We do not send your photos to another company for detection.
The names of our current providers are available on request at support@wisrdev.com.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage, device storage and device identifiers (together, "cookies"), to operate, secure and improve the Service. We use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary. These are required for the Service to work. They keep you signed in, protect your account, and help our network security provider block automated bots and attacks. They also hold content waiting to upload. The Service cannot function without them.
- Preferences. These remember your choices, such as your display theme, filters and views, and keep a cached copy of your account settings.
- Analytics and performance. These measure how the Service is used and how it performs, as described in Section 2.7. They include a device identifier and a queue of usage data waiting to be sent. We use them only after you have accepted the Terms of Service.
Advertising. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other websites or services. If we do so in the future, we will update this policy first and obtain any consent required by applicable law.
Examples of what we currently use. The following table gives examples of the technologies we currently use. It is not an exhaustive list, and the specific technologies may change as the Service develops.
| Category | Examples | When used |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in session and tokens; the age check during sign-up; photos or notes waiting to upload; a security cookie our network security provider may set to distinguish people from bots | Whenever you use the Service |
| Preferences | Display theme; filters and views; a cached copy of your account settings | Whenever you use the application or website |
| Analytics and performance | A device identifier; queued usage and diagnostic data (Section 2.7) | Only after you accept the Terms of Service |
How to control cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data, usually under "Privacy" or "Site data" in the settings. On a mobile device, you can clear the application's data or remove the application. If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Service will not work, and you may be unable to sign in. Clearing site data signs you out and resets your preferences. It also generates a new device identifier the next time you use the application, and any usage data not yet sent is discarded.
Changes. As the Service develops, we may change the cookies we use. We will update this policy to reflect any new category of cookies, and we will obtain consent where applicable law requires it.
9. Email we send
We send only the email described below. We do not send marketing email.
| When it is sent | Can you turn it off? | |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in and verification codes | During account setup and password reset | No; they are required to access your account. |
| Invitations | When an owner or manager invites you to a property | Sent once; no further invitations follow if you do not respond. |
| Alerts | When an event on your property needs attention and you have chosen email for that alert type. By default, only critical camera-health alerts are sent by email. | Yes, by alert type, in Settings > Notifications. |
| Weekly property summary | Monday mornings, property local time. On by default. | Yes, in Settings > Notifications. |
| Daily briefing | Each morning, only if you enable it. | Yes, in Settings > Notifications. |
Each type of email is sent from its own address:
- sign-in codes and invitations: no-reply@auth.wisrdev.com;
- alerts: no-reply@alerts.wisrdev.com;
- summaries: no-reply@digest.wisrdev.com.
Every alert and summary includes a link to your email settings and a one-click unsubscribe. If our email to you bounces or is reported as spam, we stop sending you alerts and invitations.
10. Retention
We retain information for as long as we need it to provide and improve the Service. Section 11 describes what happens when you delete your account.
11. Account deletion
You may delete your account in the application under Settings > Account. After deletion, you can no longer sign in.
Deleting your account in the application does not yet erase all stored information. To request deletion of the remaining information, email support@wisrdev.com. We will handle your request as required by applicable law and confirm when it is complete.
Some information remains after deletion:
- labels and corrections you added to photos stay in our training records, with your name removed;
- models already trained are not changed.
If you are the sole owner of a property, please contact us before deleting your account so that we can help you transfer ownership.
12. Your choices and rights
You may:
- choose which emails you receive in Settings > Notifications, or use the unsubscribe link in any alert or summary;
- update your profile, or delete your account, in the application;
- request a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@wisrdev.com.
13. Security
We encrypt information in transit and at rest. We limit access to personnel who need it to operate the Service. No system is completely secure. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
14. Age requirement
The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 and over. We collect your date of birth to confirm this.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will also notify account holders by email.
16. Contact
